About this place

Opened in 1971, Kano Zoological Garden in Gwale is one of the oldest zoos in Nigeria. It keeps native species including lions, hyenas, primates, ostriches and crocodiles across shaded grounds, and is a long-standing weekend and school-holiday destination for families in the metropolis.
