About this place

Buoyem village sits in a canyon ringed by sandstone hills and forest near the Mprisi sacred grove, in the Techiman Municipal District. The caves in the grove shelter a colony of around twenty thousand Rousette fruit bats, one of the few known cave-roosting colonies of their kind. The site includes several caves, rock formations and the nearby Bibiri Falls, and is listed by Ghana's national tourism portal.
