About this place
The sanctuary lies between the twin villages of Boabeng and Fiema in the Nkoranza North District. Its forest protects black-and-white colobus and mona monkeys, held sacred by the local communities, and is managed by those communities with support from the Forestry Commission's Wildlife Division. The forest also protects headwater streams used by surrounding villages, and there is a guest house on site.
