About this place

The Sirigu Women's Organisation for Pottery and Art was founded in 1997 by Melanie Kasise, beginning with 54 women and growing into a membership of several hundred practising pottery, basketry, weaving and traditional wall painting. Sirigu village has long been known across Ghana for its pottery and its symbolic wall decoration. The organisation runs a gallery, a craft shop and a guesthouse in the village.
